The Queer Soul
Queer Soul Rising is a retreat where GBTQ men gather in ceremony to remember who they are beneath survival, shame, and old stories.
Through ayahuasca, art therapy, embodiment, meditation and queer-centered healing practices, we create a safe and transformative space for the soul to awaken.
What makes this retreat different is the lens through which we see healing and queerness.
Here, queerness is not a political identity — it is a spiritual force of ancient wisdom, paradox, and beauty carried by all LGBTQ+ folk.
We approach this work with depth, humility and integrity, honoring psychology and ancient spiritual wisdom to support lasting transformation.
Have you felt the quiet ache of carrying too much — the armor, the silence, the weight of pretending to be fine?
Have you longed for a space where your tenderness, your confusion, your longing for connection are not met with shame, but held with compassion?
Many of us grew up without spaces where our spiritual sensitivity and emotional depth were truly seen. We learned to survive — to perform, to adapt, to protect. But the time comes when the masks begin to feel too tight.
This retreat is an invitation to pause, to shed what no longer fits, and to remember who you are beneath the stories you were told. An opportunity to your inhabit humanity fully, with honesty and love.
But this is more than a personal journey, it’s a collective rising. Queerness is a force that re-creates culture itself. When we heal, we do not adapt to a world that once rejected us, we reshape it.
We came here to expand what humanity and belonging can mean, to re-enchant the world with our way of seeing, feeling, and loving.
Ayahausca — Our Approach
Ayahuasca is a powerful and sacred medicine, and we approach it with deep respect for Amazonian tradition and the safety of everyone involved.
Ceremonies are guided by José Antonio Ukumari with the support of Gabriel (retreat lead facilitator) and Kramer (assistant facilitator). Jose is a Shipibo-trained facilitator who works through traditional icaros — medicines of sound that guide emotional and energetic movement — and a musical landscape rooted in Amazonian, Hindu, Andean and Nordic influences.
The ceremonies will be intimate, with a group up to 14 participants to ensure the three facilitators can take care of everyone’s needs.
Our focus is not on visions or spectacle, but on clarity, grounding, emotional truth and integration.
All participants undergo a medical and psychological screening to ensure safety and alignment.
A Journey of Transformation
Our journey together starts 2 weeks before the retreat with two pre-retreat groups calls (one per week) to prepare for the plant medicine work and learn about the Andean cosmovision. Over 8 days in the Sacred Valley of Peru, you’ll be guided through a carefully designed process that supports emotional, psychological, and spiritual integration.
• Three Ayahuasca Ceremonies held by experienced facilitators and healers.
• Delicious and nutritious meals designed to support the process with Ayahuasca.
• Daily Integration Circles for reflection, emotional grounding, and collective learning.
• Embodiment and Voice Practices to reconnect with your body’s natural intelligence.
• Art, Music Therapy and Creative Rituals to bring insight into form and meaning.
• Immersion in Nature — time to rest, listen, and receive the teachings of the land.
• Visits to Sacred Sites and Ancient Temples to meditate and tune with your inner wisdom.
This is space for truth — a space to meet yourself with clarity, compassion, and courage.
